Learning Lab Fall News
As always, the Learning Lab is ready for the fun and learning to begin again for everyone in the family. For the 5 year olds we’ve got Codergarten, handwriting and motor skills programs. For kids we’ve got next-generation Finch robots and coding. For tweens and teens there’s Girls Who Code, Robots Academy, S.T.A.C. Math Club and more. Our award-wining program, Writing from Life, continues for adults and seniors, as does the Spring Chickens Choir, App Development for Adults, One-On-One Tech Help and weekly sessions with the Literacy Volunteers. Our Visiting Writers Series continues as well. Join us for these and other life-long learning opportunities!

MATH STEAM Projects Club for Teens and Tweens
Join our S.T.A.C. Math Wiz, Felicia, for some fun, hands-on STEAM projects that make math come to life!

Fun STEM Learning with Robots and Coding
3rd-6th Grade
Robots are a great way to learn about coding and technology. Kids will love these hands-on, collaborative classes with our new fleet of Finch robots! Along with the fun, they’ll be learning the language of the future – coding!

Handwriting Ready – Grades: 2-3
Engage in multi-sensory, hands-on activities to improve letter recognition, grasp, endurance, formation, sizing, spacing, legibility. Activities will also incorporate a unique physical approach to build good writing habits including grasp and proper seated position. This inclusive group provides a FUN, stress-free environment to build the skills needed to be Handwriting Ready for school!

Fine Motor FUN-damentals – Grades: K-1
Develop the FUN-damental skills needed for a variety of fine motor tasks. Engage in
developmentally appropriate activities to develop grasp, hand strength, coordination,
manipulation, and endurance. This play-based group aimed at developing the fine motor skills
needed to participate in school, play, and family fun!

Girls Who Code Club – grades 5-8th

Do you want to solve real world problems and learn a skill that can help you in the future? Come join a sisterhood of supportive peers and role models and use Computer Science to change the world! Work in teams to build a Girls Who Code Project that solves real world problems through code- animation, games, apps, robots and more! Whether you’re a beginner or a computer master, you’re invited to join the movement! Boys are welcome, and you may also like our other programs such as Robotics Academy. Registration Required.

Math STEM Projects Club for Tween and Teens continues, courtesy of our S.T.A.C. Math Whiz Interns!
Coding, Robotics, App and Game Development are all on the schedule for kids and teens! Art-meets-tech with our Blender 3D Animation Camp and Apple Pencil workshops!
We’ll even have some tech-free STEAM Learning with action-packed, collaborative learning programs from Challenge Island.
