Sign Up for a Library Card
Please complete an application form. Once completed, please bring 2 forms of ID with your address on it to the Circulation Desk. A member of our Circulation staff will then create your new card. Your library card will grant access to materials from all member libraries within the RCLS system.
Find My PIN
By default, your PIN will be the last 4 digits of your telephone number. If you’ve forgotten your PIN or would like to change your PIN and are unable to do so online, we welcome your call to us during our operating hours. We are happy to serve you.
Access My Account
You can access your account from our catalogue. Click on “My Account” located on the top of the catalogue page. Enter your library card number and PIN (By default, the last 4 digits of your phone number).
You may then view your current checkouts, renew items, check the status of holds, and check for fines. You may also change your PIN.
Your Library card and PIN also gives you access to library apps for borrowing eBooks, eAudiobooks, streaming Movies and streaming Music.
Place a Hold
On our catalogue page type in the title, author, or keyword and press enter or return. A list of search results will appear. Find the title you would like to borrow and click on the “Place Hold” button (located on the right-hand side).
When prompted, enter your library card number and PIN (the last 4 digits of your phone number). Select a pick up location from the dropdown menu. Click “Place Hold.” You will receive an email or a phone call when the item is ready for you.

Renew my Items
Go to the library catalog. On the top right of the screen click the “My Account” link. Enter your library card number and PIN (By default, the last 4 digits of your phone number). You will see an overview of your account. Select the tab labeled ‘Checkouts.’ Each item listed has a check box next to it on the left. Choose the items you want to renew by clicking on the boxes next to them. Then click on the ‘Renew’ button at the top of the list.

Pay a Fine
If you owe the library $1.00 or more, you may pay your fine online. Go to the library catalog and click ‘My Account’ on the top of the screen. Enter your library card number and PIN (By default, the last 4 digits of your phone number). Select the tab that says “Fines.” Select RCLS ProPay.

Reserve a Meeting Room
Meeting rooms are available by reservation, subject to library approval. Patrons who wish to reserve a room must first complete an application. Reservation requests must be made 3 weeks in advance. Patrons will be notified by email whether their reservation was approved. Patrons agree to follow all library policies and procedures.
Tech Help: Book a Librarian
You can now book a one-on-one session with a librarian to get tech help or to learn how to access our digital collections and resources and/or receive research assistance. Sessions are limited to 45 minutes (maximum) and are in-person with social distancing. To make a reservation, please fill out our request form.
Borrow a Museum Pass
Free general admission museum passes are available for 3-day loan to adult Pearl River Library card holders only. Museum passes are available at the Circulation Desk.
Passes must be returned inside the Pearl River Public Library, not to the book drop (subject to a $2.00 fine). Late fees are $10.00 per day, with a maximum fine of $50.00. Replacement cost for a lost pass is $50.00. A $3.00 fee will be charged if passes are not returned in their original plastic envelopes.
Borrowers agree to abide by all museum rules and regulations.
Please call the museum you plan on visiting ahead of time to confirm hours of operation.

Connect to Internet/Wifi
Wireless Internet is available in the building during the hours that the Library is open. The wireless network name is “Pearl River Guest” and no password is required.
Get a Document Notarized
Notary Public services are available when our NYS commissioned staff member(s) is on duty and available.
Please contact the Adult Reference Desk at (845) 735-4084 ext 115 to inquire about availability or schedule an appointment. A list of local Notary Public locations is also available.
Homebound delivery
The Library has a “Books-By-Mail” delivery service available to our home bound Pearl River residents who are unable to travel to the Library due to illness, disability, or injury.
To register for this service, please complete an application.
A librarian will select reading material matched to your interests. Items will be checked out to you and mailed to your home in a reusable zippered canvas pouch. When you are finished with your items, they can be returned by mail in the same pouch. Return postage is prepaid. (DVDs, music CDs and new Fast/Express books are not included in the program.) .
This program is funded by LARC (Library Association of Rockland County), a non-profit organization that promotes and supports the 17 public libraries of Rockland County.
Vision Resources
The Library facilitates access to the Talking Book and Braille Library Program, a service provided by the New York State Library which provides audio-cassettes and players and books in Braille. The service is available for eligible New York State residents of any age
who have a physical disability that prevents them from reading print materials. To register for this service, please complete an application.
In addition, the library has both large print and audiobook editions of many fiction and nonfiction titles.
