Construction is well underway on our long-awaited library renovation, and every day brings us closer to opening the doors of a brighter, more welcoming space for our community.
During the move, we discovered that many of our original library shelves were simply too old and fragile to take apart and reuse. At the same time, the cost of furniture, shelving, and technology has risen dramatically since the start of the project.
To ensure every corner of the new library reflects the quality and care our community deserves, we are turning to the people who love the library most: you.
What is Adopt-a-Shelf?
The Pearl River Public Library is proud to launch our Adopt-A-Shelf initiative—a special opportunity to support the future of the library while honoring the people and moments that matter most to you.
For a $1,000 tax-deductible donation, you can “adopt” one of the beautiful new shelves that will soon line our renovated building. Each adopted shelf will include a personalized nameplate, creating a lasting tribute that will be seen and appreciated for years to come.

The Pearl River Public Library Renewal Project Fund is being managed by the Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan, and Rockland, which supports charitable causes in Rockland County. The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan is a tax exempt, non-profit, publicly supported, philanthropic institution with the long-term goal of building permanent, named funds for the broad-based charitable benefit of individuals, families, and institutions in the region.

We plan to:
